WebGeological Survey Ireland (GSI) and Marine Institute (MI) conducted seabed mapping between 2003 and 2005 under the auspices of the Irish National Seabed Survey (INSS) and this continued from 2006 to present day under the INtegrated mapping FOr the sustainable development of Irelands MArine Resource (INFOMAR) programme. WebIt is funded by DCCAE and delivered by Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) and the Marine Institute. It follows on from the GSI managed Irish National Seabed Survey and is scheduled to complete the mapping of all Irish waters in 2026, when Ireland will be the first country in the world to have mapped 100% of their marine territory.
