WebI have this problem big time. There are 2 components to it. (1) What is the overall range of vocal frequencies you are trying to sing? For instance for me, I only have about an octave and a 1/2 of a singing range therefore it doesn't matter what key I play in, if I try to have a song that the vocal melody spans more than an octave and a 1/2 I won't be able to sing that.
