WebJun 18, 2024 · Although life in the camp was pretty humane working 6 days a week 8 hour days people did still try to escape mostly being found at the Dwellingup pub. Once the camp closed the prisoners were sent back on a ship to their home country however many of them applied to come back as a free man and settled down in the area.
