Also, the thread repair file linked above is a good option for cleaning up threads that have a ding, burr, etc. But in your case I don't think that's the issue (I assume you inspected for a burr etc). I've just started the Sig cross barrel with David Tubb's Final Finish system which fire laps the barrel and is supposed to reduce fouling and increase barrel life.
